Trek's History

Trek first started making bicycle frames in 1976, in a red barn with a payroll for five and a single product: handbuilt steel touring frames. Two years later they started offering complete bicycles in addition to the bare frames.

As the years went by production grew and they had to move out of their barn and into their current facility just up the road from the barn. They began to manufacture road racing frames. Trek expanded into mountain bike production, as well as adding a component manufacturer. As time went on the materials the bicycles were made out of went from steel to aluminum to carbon fiber. Carbon Fiber was introduced to bicycle frames to create some of the lightest stiffest bikes seen. OCLV Carbon technology was introduced in 1992. This process helped them build the bikes that went on to make Tour de France history.

Trek makes a bike for any type of riding. From Hybrids to pro level mountain and road bikes. Weather you're Lance Armstrong or a Mother of five there is a bike that is just right for you.

Trek continues to manufacture some of the best bikes in the world. Their road and mountain bikes continue to make history while their facility continues to grow as their ever-growing R&D department and engineering come up with bigger and better concepts.
